Vintage circle card

Once again I used an image from Janet's Etsy shop. I love this cute little vintage girl with the pies:). So pretty.

I didn't have a circle die big enough for this card so I traced a bowl I had and cut it out. A tip if you're like me and having a hard time cutting perfect circles: distress the edge with a pair of scissors or an edge scraper and no one will ever know you didn't cut straight. I didn't have any scalloped circle dies either so I punched out smaller circles that I tucked behind the largers ones, slightly overlapping eachother.

I'm taking my mission to use upp all my old random scrap papers seriously. This card is made entirely of pattern papers from different collections that I had in my stash forever.

A winter card and a spring card

There's no snow in the part of Sweden where I live, only gray and rainy days. But that didn't stop me from making a card with a cold, wintery feeling.

Once again I used Maja Design's gorgeous papers and also my favorite edge die from La la land crafts.

I doubled the layers of my wreath die and added some small handmade flowers here and there. In the center I put a dot of Enamel Accent, also a favorite of mine.

As a contrast to the winter card I have a warm spring card to share with you.

It's a birthday card, but it do look like an Easter card, don't you think?

The cute image is from Janet's Etsy store. I love her images, good quality and all kinds of images for every occasion. The flowers are handmade with a dot of Enamel Accent in every center.

Lots of hearts

I was looking through pictures on Pinterest the other day and found a picture I really liked. Pinterest is a great inspiration source when your mojo is down. Not that mine is particulary often;). This is the picture:

Beautiful isn't it? And here's my card:

The papers are from an older collection by Fabscraps. I have a HUGE pile of old and random sheets and scraps that I've decided to get rid of by using them. And the ones I can't find a way to use I'm going to send to a friend whose son loves to play with paper.

I inked the paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give it a little more of a red shade. Die cut the hearts and inked 2 of them with Salty Ocean and a green-blue ink. Can't remember which one though. Then I embossed the hearts with clear UTEE. The other 2 hearts I gave a coat of Glossy Accent and then I poured Platinum Distress Glitter over them.

I have one more card to share with you today. I started off with adhering strips of pattern papers on a scrap piece of paper. I used the same die set as in the previous card to cut out the larger and smaller heart. I also die cut a heart in the center of the bigger heart and then I pieced the smaller heart into the negative space. This puzzle inlay technique is a favorite of mine. As a finishing touch I added some bling and pearls.

Cards with Maja Design papers

Today I want to share a couple of cards I've created with the Vintage Autumn collection by Maja design. These papers are so gorgeous and are suitable for any occasion. I think this card would be the perfect wedding card.

The pink roses are handmade. I make a lot of handmade flowers these days. It takes a while to get the hang of it, at least for me, but once you master the technique it's so much fun.

I also discovered a new technique, by accident acctually. I was going to color in the leaves with Distress Ink, but my ink pad was too dry. I ended up placing the die cut leaves right on top of the pad and rubbed the ink on and voila! I got this great effect where the white still shows up on the leaves. Love it. I'll be using this technique a lot on future projects.

Next up is a card with almost the same colors but instead of white accent color I used black. I like both effects. It depends on what you're going for. This is a birthday card and I used a wreath I bought for Christmas projects, but I think it looks just as great on other type of cards.
